Waterville Golf Links is located 6km from Fuchsia Lodge. Set on a remote stretch of dune-land between the Atlantic Ocean and the Inny River, Waterville is a true championship links course, which is consistently rated among the Top 10 golf courses in the world. Designed by Eddie Hackett and Tom Fazio, it features 18 holes that meander through towering dunes with no blind shots—what you see is what you get. The course is renowned for its natural beauty, challenging layout, and rich history, including visits from legends like Tiger Woods and Payne Stewart. The 11th hole, “Tranquillity,” is often cited as one of the best par fives in Ireland.
Over forty of the worlds’ greatest champions from Faldo to Woods have experienced the testing fairways of Waterville. One of the many to be captivated by the beauty and majesty of Waterville is the great American professional and Ryder Cup Captain, Raymond Floyd. In a "Chicago Tribune" article, he selected Waterville as one of his five favourite courses along with Augusta National, Cypress Point, Pebble Beach and St. Andrews. He wrote... "This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen... it has some of the finest links holes I have ever played."
